Description

"Conchological, each shaped based on that of a real shell and enriched in shades of pink, yellow and iron red. 1 Argonauta Argo Compote and tellin Radiata Stand, 4 Angornia Covered Bowls with Serpoula Finials and Four Stands (1 stand Restored), 6 tellina radiata dishes (one as is), 3 pitolas aestatus dishes (one as is), 1 large tellina radiata stand, 23 pecten japonicum plates, pair of tellina radiata dishes (both restored), pair covered creambowls (both restored). Wedgwood initiated in creamware around 1790-1795, the service proved most popular. It was reworked in the 19th century so that the forms were more conchologically accurate and produced throughout that century in a variety of bodies including pearlware, white ware, majolica, and moonlight lustre.
